LAKES HOTEL AND GOLF COURSE
The Hellidon Lakes Hotel and golf course is situated
in 220 acres of beautiful northamptonshire countryside
between Daventry and Banbury. It has all the facilities
you could need for a great shortbreak and the
food is excellent too!.
The hotel has 110 rooms and overlooks the 27
hole golf course. You can sit on the balcony of
the bar and watch the golfing action, as golfers
gamble on the 18th hole by hitting over the lake
or taking the safe option of playing the dog leg
right. There is also a golf simulator next to
the bar if you fancy a warmup or you could use
one of the ten pin bowling lanes situated downstairs.
We visited the hotel as Two couples and were
slightly worried that the wives would get bored
whilst we were off playing golf, but that wasn't
the case. The hotel has a spa, pool, Jacuzzi,
steam room and 40 station gymnasium which kept
them amused while we were hitting balls into the
many water hazards. The course is no Augusta and
the greens are very challenging for most golfers,
but I couldn't find anything to complain about.
The hotel rooms Were clean and the food in the
4 Star AA Rosette Awarded Restaurant was excellent.
Overall it's a great place for a weekend away
and one of the few places that I would pay a return
visit.
